Officials: 73-year-old Winter Garden woman among six killed in West Virginia helicopter crash

The National Transportation Safety Board says a woman from Winter Garden, Florida, was among those killed in a deadly helicopter crash. NTSB has been investigating the incident, which occurred June 22, around 4:57 p.m. in Logan, West Virginia.Six people, including a pilot, three passengers and two pilot-rated passengers, were on a flight related to a Huey Reunion event. For the event, MARPAT Aviation offered helicopter rides. The flight of a Bell UH-1B helicopter left the Logan County Airport and later crashed nearly 3.7 miles from the airport, according to NTSB.The helicopter was consumed in flames following the crash.The victims pronounced dead in the crash have been identified.Six people, all from different states, were killed in the crash, including 73-year-old Carolyn O’Connor from Winter Garden.Five men were also pronounced dead in the crash: Marvin Bledsoe, 64, Jack Collins, 65, Kevin Warren, 51, Donald Sandhoff, 69, and John Nagle, 53. Bledsoe and Collins were both from West Virginia, Warren from Tennessee, Sandhoff from North Carolina and Nagle from Texas. Upon investigation, the NTSB discovered that the helicopter flight was the last one scheduled for the day and its route was different from previous tour paths taken. Investigators are actively collecting evidence from the crash.
